Almost all cultures of the world talk about dragons and there is something
interesting about this fact, because oceans, seas, mountains, and all sorts of geographical barriers separated the ancient world. This allowed civilizations to develop their own unique identity in the different corners of the world. As a result, every civilization has its own deities, Gods, customs, and traditions. Nevertheless, there is a commonality in all of them and that is the dragons. Whether we look at the East or West, North or South corners of the globe, all of them have some connection with dragons. What is the reason behind it?
.
Moreover, even if we assume that dragons did exist at some point in time like dinosaurs, then why are there no fossils found so far? Most cultures portray dragons as fire emitting beings. Is there a reason for this phenomenon? Despite the geographical limitations, every culture had access to one common feature of our planet. The sky! They could see the stars, the sun and all the heavenly bodies from any where on th
e globe. Perhaps, this is where the legend of the dragon originated. Comets resemble a flying serpent that spewed fire and had a tail.
.
Image a comet impact that led to a massive destruction. The survivors would have lived to tell a tale about a fire-emitting serpent that came from the skies and spewed fire on the earth.
.
Some people also believe that a comet could have also been the cause of destruction of great civilizations like Atlantis and Lemuria. The survivors may have seen wide spread destruction which may have filled fear in their hearts. Hence, as the word of mouth grew and more and more people came to know about the monster from the sky, people would have started dreading the appearance of comets or these dragons in the sky.
.
Whether these comets were the real dragons or dragons really existed somewhere, we can never tell. Yet, one thing is for sure, that dragons are a feature that unites all the civilizations of the world!
